New Year's Poem

When being hurt has become the norm,
You start questioning yourself, your worth,
Had the people around you change?
Or was it that you weren't good enough?

When all remains are the tears that flow,
When the smiles had no place to show,
When all you feel is you're alone,
Ask yourself, is it time to go?

Time flies, and people sure change,
Nothing can come in the way,
As much as you prefer another way,
There's not much left to be said.

But why do you still try so hard?
Why do you keep holding on?
It's not because that I'm just stupid,
It's because there's the precious ones.

Why let go when things look tough?
Why forgo when things come to a stud?
I'm sure you still remember well,
All the better times to tell.

There's just so much more to see,
But if you let go just to set yourself free,
You'll be missing out on all the memories,
That has yet to tell you things.

Forget the grudges, the tears, the sadness,
Embrace the laughters, the smiles, the happiness,
Let the bygones be just that,
And let's move to a fresh new start.

Don't let the past hold you back,
Don't let the future scare you back,
Embrace all you have in the present,
And you can make your dreams happen.
